| ... par 5 by 3 feet and failed to get up and down otherwise I would have had the worldwide professional record for consecutive birdies of 9 in a row. I have to say that my coach Moe Norman was a huge influence in my life and back in 1986 playing the Manitoba Open on the Canadian Tour Moe read the reports of my round of golf the day I shot 60 breaking Moe’s tour record best of 61 and in so doing I did it with 30 shots and 30 putts. Moe said to me afterwards that that was the lowest round in the history of golf with the most putts. He said, “When Chip Beck and Al Geiberger shot their 59s on the PGA Tour, they did it with 22 putts… If you could only putt! If you had 25 putts you would have shot 55 and they would still be talking about you.” Recently I did a tv show with Donald Trump called “Big Break VI: Trump National”. On the show the girls called me the “silver fox” while the guys called me the “short game wizard”. Having recently turned 50 years of age and being invited back for an encore season “Big Break VII: Reunion” I have been selected for the reunion for various reasons mainly for being a character and one that has quite a few skill sets and camera presence and charisma. After being on 2 seasons and now that I am a rookie again I’ve been training very hard but it’s a labor of love and it’s what I did in my rookie years in my early 20s. Typically cycling whenever I can, ice-skating and doing a form of yoga called “Bikram” in a room that is 105 degrees. This has been my secret formula that has led to great successes in the past and as well as now in 2007 I expect it to keep me feeling young and powerful and providing great entertainment to all the people I will have a chance to meet along the way. |
