When Arnold Palmer witnessed Kelly's golfing skills at the 1986 Canadian PGA, he remarked, "Kelly, after watching you for 10 minutes trying to find a negative about your 6 inch tee, all I could come up with was 5 positives…” Kelly learned his craft from his coach and mentor the legendary Moe Norman - whom Lee Trevino called 'the best ball striker I ever saw come down the pipe." Kelly and Moe have worked for more than 20 years. When Kelly shot his record round of 60 at the 1986 Manitoba Open, Moe joked "I taught him everything I know and he thanks me by breaking my record."
